Just when Priyanka Chopra’s crime thriller Quantico is going off the air, another Indian actor Vir Das is beginning a new chapter on international TV. The actor will be starring in a cop drama Whiskey Cavalier as one of the leads.
In a recent tweet, Vir Das has credited Priyanka Chopra with opening the international doors for “small fish” like him. On Thursday, the 38-year-old stand-up comedian and actor took to Twitter and called Priyanka Chopra a ‘maverick’ and a ‘star’.

The tweet read, “I’d just like to say Priyanka Chopra is a maverick and a star, who has opened the doors for small fish like me to do comparatively microscopic things. So, if you feel the need to write an article about both of us, write one that gives her credit and appreciation because I do.”

Vir Das will be playing an FBI agent in the weekly dramedy series Whiskey Cavalier, produced by Warner Brothers. The show is an hour-long high octane action dramedy following the tough but tender FBI agent who has the code name of Whiskey Cavalier. Vir will be seen essaying the role of Jai Datta, one of the main FBI agents to feature in the show.

This marks Vir’s second venture into American television series space after “In Theory” was announced last year for another network.
