Poonam Pandey made her entry into Bollywood with the 2013 film “Nasha” and had also appeared in a few Bhojpuri and Telugu films. Her television stint included a memorable appearance in the first season of “Lock Upp,” hosted by Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut.
The late actress gained prominence through her active presence on social media platforms, particularly Twitter, where she gained attention by sharing semi-nude photos. Notably, she even ventured into the mobile application space, launching her own app. However, Google banned the app shortly after its debut on the Play Store, making it exclusively available on her official website.
Pandey had grabbed headlines in the past when she promised to strip in celebration if the Indian cricket team won the 2011 Cricket World Cup. Despite India securing the victory, Pandey refrained from fulfilling her pledge due to public disapproval, later attributing her decision to the denial of permission by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). Nevertheless, she did release a video on her mobile app, showcasing a controversial act of stripping naked at the Wankhede Stadium at night.
As the news of Poonam Pandey’s untimely demise spreads, fans and the entertainment industry mourn the loss of a talent gone too soon, remembering her for the various roles she portrayed and the controversies that marked her career.
