The much-awaited biopic based on the life of Shiv Sena supremo, late Bal Thackeray, finally has some update. The film was announced in December 2017, featuring Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Bal Thackeray.
All this time, Nawazuddin was undergoing vocal training to aptly acquire the diction of the character. According to Mumbai Mirror reports, the film will go on the floor on 25 March. The release of the film has been scheduled on Bal Thackery’s 93rd birth anniversary, dated 23 January 2019.
The actor talked about the character and told Mumbai Mirror, “Any actor would want to play him because of the legacy he left behind. I will need a minimum of 15 days to study the politician’s mannerisms and style.”
Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut also spoke about the film to Mumbai Mirror and said, “It is a full-fledged commercial film which will be shot at approximately 108 locations, including the Lucknow Court that Balasaheb Thackeray visited during the Babri Masjid demolition hearing.”
