Rapper, Miss Money, has garnered much success in her musical career to date, including writing award-winning hit songs and gaining international fame, all while staying true to her roots. She has headlined with the likes of Memphis Bleek, Wu-Tang Clan, and Wiz Khalifa and collaborated with other great names in hip-hop such as Big Ali and Boosie Badazz. In fact, her single ‘Pull-Up,’ which she recorded with Boosie Badazz, is all set for its summer 2019 release.
Miss Money had a rough start in life. After her biological mother was charged with the attempted murder of her sexually abusive uncle, she flitted in and out of different shelters, foster care, and detention centers throughout her childhood. During this time, Miss Money was always outspoken and often getting into trouble with the law. However, it was clear that she had a natural talent with words and the performing arts. Her caretakers at Auberle shelter recognized this, and provided the encouragement she needed to participate in Christmas plays and theatre groups. Having developed a real taste for performing, Miss Money caught the attention of Russell Simmons while at the Kelly Strayhorn Theater in her hometown of Pittsburgh. He gave her positive feedback and support and from then on, there was no looking back.

Soon, Miss Money began making her presence felt in the rap and hip-hop circuits. Before she knew it she was beginning to bag tour dates and started traveling extensively. The awards came knocking at her door soon after. She won the Bragging Rights award in 2009 and received a number of nominations including Best Female Artist.

She traveled to Paris to sign with Madison Music in 2011. She was introduced to Big Ali, a fellow artist under the same label, and went on to be featured on several recordings with him. From here, her career really began to skyrocket. She received even more attention from the hip-hop world and won the Akademia Award for Best Song with ‘Fell in Love’ in 2016, performing at the gala show in Los Angeles.
Her Rasta trap single, ‘On the Nephs’ pays homage to her Hill District roots and has popularized the local phrase on a global level. The song became an immensely popular track in South Africa and received a lot of airtime on television and countless radio stations in the country, also leading to a feature in the Saturday Punch newspaper. ‘On the Nephs’ was a hit at home too, with the music video being shown on the BET Network and MTV in the States. The popularity of the song led to her other moniker, ‘Miss On the Nephs.’ As Miss Money, herself recalls, “This one hit home.”
Her most recent release ‘MrsParker,’ continues to deliver the reggae vibe that had been established in the artist’s previous catalog. The simple hook, mellow yet upbeat dance-hall track and beautifully shot music video is fun and infectious and sure to become an instant summer classic. With lots planned in the pipeline including the launch of her own shoe brand, Rich Kickz, and upcoming release ‘Pull-Up’ with Boosie Badazz, Miss Money shows no sign of slowing down any time soon. Miss Money adds, “I feel like I have something to prove in the rapping world, Wiz paved the way now it’s my turn.”
