Mithun’s son Mahaakshay granted anticipatory bail in rape case

Mithun Chakraborty’s son Mahaakshay was on Saturday granted anticipatory bail in the case of alleged rape of a Bhojpuri actress. Mahaakshay and his mother Yogeeta Bali were accused by the actress of rape and cheating. A Delhi court granted anticipatory bail to both Mahaakshay and Bali after the actress filed an FIR.

Special Judge Ashutosh Kumar granted bail to the two asking them to furnish a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh with two sureties of the same amount. The court has directed them not to tamper with evidence or influence witnesses and to join the investigation whenever required and to co-operate with the probe agency.

Mahaaskashya was charged with raping the woman, impregnating her and aborting her foetus without her consent. Yogeeta, Mithun’s was also booked in the case and charged with threatening the victim.

According to reports, the actress alleged that Mahaakshay spiked her soft drink when he raped her the first time. The woman claimed that she had been sexually abused for four years. When she got pregnant, she added, Mahaakshay gave her medicines to get the foetus aborted.

“He did not want any child or interruption in his career at this stage due to which the actor got the pregnancy aborted,” the complaint said.

Mahaakshay’s marriage to Madalsa Sharma, which was scheduled for today, has been canceled. Reports say that the ceremony, which was to be held at Mithun’s posh hotel in Udhagamandalam (Ooty) in Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu, was called off after the arrival of the investigating team.
