During an interview, Amitabh Bachchan was asked to share his views on the vital issue of sexual harassment in the entertainment business.
Amid the waxing #MeToo movement in Bollywood that has led to many women from the industry to speak up against sexual harassment and abuse at the workplace and otherwise, megastar Amitabh Bachchan addressed the issue on Thursday, which happens to be his 76th birthday.
During an interview with IANS, the ace actor was asked to share his views on the vital issue of sexual harassment in the entertainment business.

Answering the question, he said, “No woman should ever be subjected to any kind of misbehaviour, or disorderly conduct, especially at her workplace. Such acts should immediately be brought to the notice of concerned authorities, and corrective measures be taken, either through filing complaints or a recourse to law.”

“Discipline and civic, social and moral curriculum should be adopted at a very early educational level. Women, children and the weaker sections of our society are the most vulnerable. They need to be under special protective care. It has been most heartening to see women representations in most work vocations on the increase in our country. It would be an irreparable blemish if we are not able to provide them the welcome they deserve and the dignity of the security of their presence,” the actor added.
Previously, during an interaction with the media, Amitabh Bachchan was asked to address the accusations made against Nana Patekar by his co-actor Tanushree Dutta. Steering clear from the controversy he replied, “Naa toh mera naam Tanushree hai, naa hee Nana Patekar. Kaise uttar dun aapko iss sawaal ka? (Neither is my name Tanushree nor is it Nana Patekar. How do I answer this question?)”
