Ali Fazal will be next seen in the Hindi remake of the cult classic Telugu film, Prasthanam, along with Sanjay Dutt is gearing for the response of audience for his web series Mirzapur which releases today i.e. 16th November.
Currently, Fazal who was all in the news for original series Mirzapur in which he plays a gangster running an arms and narcotic smuggling cell dominating the city of Mirzapur, a land filed with crime. He himself seems to have been the one channelling his inner Sanjay Dutt.

For Mirzapur he went for a transformation, he channelled his Sanjay Dutt as he has always been deeply inspired by the actors from his younger days. On the sets of Mirzapur, after seeing his incredible physical transformation everyone on the sets keep his nick name as Sanju during the shoot and promotion. Ali began to walk like Sanjay Dutt, started to have his demeanour, started to talk like him. His body language reminded everyone of Sanjay Dutt from his films like Khalnayak and Vaastav.

A source close to the actor said,”Ali bulked up massively for his role. Owing to his frame and structure his walk post his transformation had an incredible similarity to the signature walk Sanjay Dutt is known for. Not just that even the dialogue delivery in front of the camera was quite similar from Sanjay’s earlier films. Thus the cast lovingly started referring to him as Sanju Baba, a name which is referred to the real life Sanjay Dutt by his fans”.
Mirzapur is created by Karan Anshuman and Puneet Krishna, and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment, Amazon Prime Video’s Mirzapur has been directed by Gurmeet Singh.
