Karan Johar celebrated three years of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil in a special way. The film featured Anushka Sharma, Ranbir Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in the lead, and released on 28 October 2016.
Filmmaker and producer Karan Johar shared the film’s poster on Instagram with a heartfelt post that read, “A film closest to my heart….had the best time filming it and have indelible memories! Thank you to the entire cast and crew that made this experience so memorable. …it’s about the liberation of a broken heart…. @aishwaryaraibachchan_arb@anushkasharma #ranbirkapoor @dharmamovies.”

Fawad Khan was seen in a guest appearance in the film as was Shah Rukh Khan.
While the film did not do well at the box office, its music was much appreciated. The costumes of the lead actors also attracted much attention.
After short anthology films for Netflix, Lust Stories and Ghost Stories, Karan Johar will return to the director’s chair with Takht which is touted to be his magnum opus.
Takht will feature Ranveer Singh, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Vicky Kaushal, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor and Anil Kapoor among others.
