Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone got married as per Konkani traditions in Italy on Wednesday; an Anand Karaj will take place on Thursday
#DeepikaWedsRanveer: Bollywood stars Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone, who had been dating for six years now, got married as per Konkani traditions in Italy on Wednesday. The wedding that took place by the picturesque Lake Como was a private ceremony attended only by some close friends and family members.
According to reports, Deepika wore a red and gold lehenga, while Ranveer was dressed in white. Most of the guests could be seen dressed in pastels, keeping with the classy setting of the venue in Lombardy region of northern Italy, a popular resort area.
With no media allowed to shoot the wedding celebrations, only a few wide-angle shots could be seen at the time of writing.

The Konkani wedding will be followed by a traditional Anand Karaj ceremony on Thursday.
According to reports, there is a three-level security plan in place for the wedding, as per which mobile phones are not allowed outside the guests’ rooms, and boats are patrolling the lake to check for drones.
Deepika and Ranveer along with family members left for Italy last week. On Monday evening, the two exchanged rings, and there were ‘mehendi’ and sangeet ceremonies.
Deepika wore a Sabyasachi Mukherjee outfit for the mehendi. Singer Harshdeep Kaur, along with Sanjoy Das, Bobby Pathak and Firoz Khan performed at the ceremony. Deepika is likely to wear a Sabyasachi ensemble for the Anand Karaj too.
After they return from Italy, the couple will throw two receptions — one in Bengaluru on November 21 and another in Mumbai on November 28.

The popular actors have together worked in films such as ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’, ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and ‘Padmaavat’. Their love story began on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram-Leela. After six years of courtship, the couple announced the wedding dates on social media in October.
“We thank you for all the love you have showered upon us over the years and seek your blessings as we embark on this incredible journey of love, loyalty friendship and togetherness,” they said in the announcement.
They urged their guests to direct gifts in the form of a donation to Deepika’s The Live Love Laugh Foundation, which works towards spreading awareness on mental health.
