Colman Domingo to play Michael Jackson’s father Joe in biopic ‘Michael’
Get ready for a cinematic journey as Colman Domingo steps into the role of Joe Jackson in the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic "Michael," set to release on April 18, 2025.
Micheal Jackson’s father Joe has sent a heartfelt message to his grandson Blanket, saying the little one reminds him of the pop icon.
The 89-year-old posted a photograph with his grandson on his official website and wrote, “To my grandson Blanket. You are like your father in so many ways, and you remind me most of him.
“Enjoy life, see lots of good movies, stay healthy and remember, I do love you!”

The family patriarch also posted a video message on the website reiterating his compliments and urged him to stay off bikes.

“Hello, Blanket! This is Joe Jackson. Your health is… I don’t know what. You’re like your father. Now I understand why your father had you wear masks all the time ’cause news people was bothering him so much and he tried to disguise you as much as possible.
“But I want you to stay healthy and stay off those bikes!” he added.
Recently, Jackson’s mother Katherine had surrendered her co-guardianship over Blanket.
The 87-year-old mother of the King of Pop filed papers to hand over the guardianship to Tito Joe “TJ” Jackson, Blanket’s cousin.
Michael Jackson died from an accidental overdose of anaesthesia in June, 2009, and Katherine had since shared legal guardianship of Prince, 16, Paris, 15, and 11-year-old Blanket.
