In contrast to the talks that Jacqueline Fernandez might not be seen romancing Salman Khan in the sequel to their 2014 hit Kick, the makers have now officially announced that the actor will return as the leading lady in the film, Kick 2.
Rumours of Jacqueline not being a part of Kick 2 were doing the rounds ever since the official announcement of the film and many speculated a fresh face or even Deepika Padukone as the female lead for the sequel.
But all rumours were put to rest when filmmaker Sajid Nadiadwala hinted towards Jacqueline being the leading lady of the upcoming film.
“Script is being written keeping Jackie in mind,” Nadiadwala told DNA.
This means that the fans have to wait a little longer to witness the onscreen pairing of Bollywood’s ‘Dabangg’ and Rani ‘Padmavati’ as Nadiadwala is quite firm to cast Jacqueline in Kick 2.
Deepika, who is riding high on the glorious success of Padmaavat, has lost some opportunities in the past to work with Salman and the same has happened yet again, leading to disappointment for the fans.
Deepika’s loss is Jacqueline’s gain as the actor will once again star opposite Salman in the sequel to their film.
Kick 2, which is scheduled for release on Christmas 2019, will see Salman and Jacqueline together in third film after Kick and Race 3, the latter being scheduled for release on 14 May 2018.
