Excerpts:

Tell us about your journey so far as a mother.

I’m loving the journey so far. It’s been all sorts of things, challenging, fulfilling and confounding. I love how I get to revisit all the nursery rhymes and baby poems! I’m also figuring out what works for me and Inaaya, she still remains my priority.

Anything you would like to share about motherhood that you hadn’t expected to experience?

Like I said earlier, it’s been all sorts of things and it’s definitely evolved me as a person and made me a lot of more resilient. It’s an ongoing experience and has been great so far.

Are you okay with the spotlight which Inaaya, or your nephew Taimur, gets?

Childhood is all about innocence. Inaaya and Taimur feel its normal, but they have the right to their privacy, and the media needs to respect that.

Tell us about the response you received for your first book.

The response was quite overwhelming, from anonymous reviews to some of the well-respected people from the industry that I look up to. (They) appreciated my work. I’m aware that many have a certain impression about where I come from and so I needed to put my story out there.

What do you plan to write next?

Well, I think it’ll be a humorous one. But I’m still stuck on thought. I’ve just written about 500 words. Let’s see how the rest pans out.

Are we going to see you on the silver screen in near future?

If they shoot in my living room, why not? I’m still figuring it out but I always hope I get a talk show offer because I’m more into women oriented panels.

How do you divide your time between work, Kunal and Inaaya?

I’ve been blessed with a super supportive partner who does his best to make it easier for all three of us.
