Zac Efron, known for his roles in various films, including the recent “The Iron Claw,” shared an unexpected challenge he faced during the filming. Playing the role of pro wrestler Kevin Von Erich, Efron found himself spending a lot of time on set in nothing but his underwear, which he described as “jarring.” In an interview with U.K. outlet Metro, Efron explained how it felt awkward standing around in between takes with a crowd of people while dressed only in his undies.

“The Iron Claw” tells the real-life story of the Von Erich family, famous in the world of wrestling during the 1970s and ’80s. The film delves into the tragic events surrounding the family, including the rumored “Von Erich Curse.”

Zac Efron underwent a physical transformation for the role, gaining 15 pounds of muscle and wearing a distinctive wig. He admitted that initially, it was jarring to see himself so different, but once everything came together on set, it added authenticity to the portrayal of the Von Erichs.

“The Iron Claw,” also starring Jeremy Allen White, Harris Dickinson, Stanley Simons, and Holt McCallany, is now showing in theaters. The film explores not only the world of wrestling but also the personal struggles and tragedies faced by the Von Erich family, making it a compelling watch for audiences.
