Sir Roger Moore loses Bond with life at 89

James Bond actor Sir Roger Moore passed away on Tuesday after a brief battle with cancer. He was 89. 

The actor's family members announced on social media that he had died in Switzerland. 

"With the heaviest of hearts, we must share the awful news that our father, Sir Roger Moore, passed away today. We are all devastated," the tweet read.

Moore is known for starring in popular Bond movies such as Live And Let die, The Man with the Golden Gun, The Spy Who Loved Me, Moonraker and Octopussy among others.

The statement further revealed that there will be a private funeral in Monaco as per Moore's wish.
