Former “Mandalorian” star Gina Carano is taking legal action against Disney, alleging wrongful termination and discrimination based on her gender. In a heartfelt statement shared on social media platform X, Carano expressed her grievances, accusing the entertainment giants of orchestrating a campaign to silence and discredit her.

Notably, she revealed that Elon Musk is supporting her financially in this legal battle, a move consistent with his prior actions in aiding individuals facing discrimination online.

Carano, known for her roles in both acting and mixed martial arts, gained widespread acclaim for her portrayal in “The Mandalorian.” However, her tenure came to an abrupt end in February 2021 following a controversial Instagram post referencing the Holocaust.

Despite her status as a guest actor, earning $25,000 per episode plus a one-time bonus, she asserts that she faced harassment and defamation from Disney and Lucasfilm due to her personal beliefs and failure to conform to company ideologies, particularly regarding social and political issues like Black Lives Matter and preferred pronouns.

In her legal filing, Carano contends that she was an unfair target. Specifically, she draws attention to a past post by “Mandalorian” star Pedro Pascal, equating former President Donald Trump with Hitler, which did not result in disciplinary action.

Gina Carano seeks not only financial restitution, with a minimum of $75,000 in damages, but also demands that Lucasfilm be compelled by the court to reconsider casting her in future projects. Her lawsuit underscores broader concerns surrounding freedom of expression in the entertainment industry and the treatment of individuals with differing viewpoints.
