‘Spider-Man 4’: Tom Holland’s ‘spidey sense’ set for July 2026 return
Tom Holland is ready to put his ‘peter-tingle’ to work with ‘Spider-Man 4!’ The MCU film will premiere on July 24, 2026.
Sony Pictures’ obsession with Marvel superhero Spiderman has reached another level as they have finalised another spinoff to Spiderman even before the release of Venom.
Spiderman is probably Marvel’s biggest superhero, who ranks just behind Superman and Batman, and all age groups just love Spidey for all the right reasons. However, in recent years we have seen filmmakers cashing in on the opportunity to make films based on their arch nemesis.

Films like Deadpool and Suicide Squad are considered as a breakthrough in the “anti-hero superhero” genre. The list keeps on expanding as two more films from the same genre will witness a live-action adaptation on the big screen.

Apart from Venom, Sony Pictures has finalised the lead actor for their film Morbius.
Yes, you read that right. Another one of Spiderman’s nemesis gets his own live action film. And it gets better with the casting of the actor in the titular role.
The Oscar-winning actor Jared Leto has been roped in to essay the role of anti-heroic demonic blood sucking vampire in the film. Well, if Leto’s casting is not enough to surprise you then we have more news for you!
According to a report in Hollywood Reporter, Daniel Espinosa, who directed acclaimed films like Safe house and Life, will be sitting in the director’s chair for the project. Also, Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama, the duo famous for creating Netflix’s Lost in Space remake, would be joining him by materialising the script.
Interestingly, Leto is no stranger to superhero films. While we can’t hold on to our excitement for the film, Leto just might dabble between two supervillains or anti-heroes. Leto is already playing Batman’s biggest adversary Joker in the DC extended universe and now he is all set to enter the Marvel world. Well, it’ll be interesting to see how Leto fans will react to the news.
The film will be based on anti-hero Morbius, the Living Vampire, a scientist who suffered from a rare blood disease and attempted to cure himself to disastrous results. Instead of being cured, he became afflicted with a condition that was a form of vampirisim.
Morbius has been considered as one of Spiderman’s most feared adversaries and has fought him on numerous occasions. However, with the emerge of anti-hero characters in the late 80s and early 90s the creators of the character have shifted him toward a slightly heroic side.
The film will be backed by Avi Arad, Lucas Foster and Matt Tolmach. The official release date of the film is yet to be revealed by the makers.
