According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Hichki earned Rs 6.20-crore on Sunday, taking the total collections of the film to Rs 15.35-crore.
Despite facing competition at the box office from Raid and Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Rani’s Hichki has become yet another perfect example of why content prevails over the typical masala action film.
In the recent time, with films like Hindi Medium, Newton and Secret Superstar proving to be a huge success at the box office, Hichki is no exception as the film is made on a low budget and depicts the trouble of a person suffering from Tourette Syndrome.
The film is now proceeding in the first week of its theatrical run and it’ll be interesting to see how the film fares in the coming days.
Directed by Sidharth P Malhotra, Hichki released worldwide on March 23.
