Sonakshi Sinha reveals how she landed her ‘Dabangg’ role
Sonakshi Sinha shares the surprising story of how she was cast in 'Dabangg' after a chance encounter at Amrita Arora's wedding.
The much awaited Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif starrer Tiger Zinda Hai‘s trailer has been released and fans have gone berserk over it. While the entire film fraternity is going gungho over the film after watching it, it seems to have been blown out of proportion. Being a Salman Khan starrer, it has to be larger than life, and his collaboration with Katrina Kaif makes it even special for the Bhai fans.
However, Salman is exactly like what he has been all these years (an action hero); and the trailer is like what people had been expecting it to be. Why all the hype then?
Well, the fact is Bollywood was divided into two camps at one point of time. One being the Shah Rukh Khan camp and the other being Salman Khan’s. They tried their best to beat each other at the box office, but that phase was, perhaps, experimental for both; as most of their movies failed, and only a few worked. Ever since the Karan Arjun co-stars buried their hatchet and befriended again, their fan following has grown vastly and all their movies do well, despite the lack of good content.

Tiger Zinda Hai‘s trailer was being awaited by fans in great anticipation, and the trailer did not fail to impress. It does to an extent, but talking about it giving out some unique content; a lot more was expected. Going by the trailer, the film seems to dish out nothing new.
In fact, the trailer reminds us of Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif’s 2015 release Phantom. Although the fight sequences and the guns used in this are top notch, several similarities between the films an be drawn. Katrina Kaif’s role is nothing new; as this is the third time she is essaying a similar role like that in Phantom and Ek Tha Tiger. Both stars are seen fighting against a common enemy, since no lead actors are ever pitted against each other in Bolywood.
However, it won’t be fair to ignore their onscreen romance, which has matured with time, but has also grown stale after them featuring in four movies together. It would have been interesting to see a fresh face slip into Katrina’s shoes.
This is again a Salman Khan film and his character is definitely going to overshadow the antagonist. Katrina’s character Zoya also stands secondary in the film, as nothing can match Salman’s stardom.
Directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, the film will hit theatres on December 22.
