“My mind could always tell me to hang a kind of chip on your neck and say, I have this disease and I could die in a few months or a year or two. Or I could just avoid this conversation completely and live my life the way it offers me,” he added.

Speaking of the clarity this phase has brought in his life, Irrfan said, “Clarity came like lightning. You stop your contemplation, you stop your planning, you stop the noise. You see the other aspect of it. It gives you so much. Life offers you so much. That’s why I feel like I have no other words but thanks.”

In March, Irrfan Khan had announced his health condition on social media. “Learning that I have been diagnosed with a neuroendocrine tumour as of now has admittedly been difficult… I hope to be back with more stories to tell,” read his statement posted on Twitter.

On the film front, Irrfan Khan would soon be seen in Karwaan also starring Dulquer Salmaan and Mithila Palkar, slated to release on 3 August. Other than that, he will feature in an indie film titled Puzzle alongside Kelly Macdonald.
