Singers transitioning into actors is not a new phenomenon, and the latest to embrace this challenge is none other than singer Guru Randhawa. He is all set to venture into the realm of rom-com drama with ‘Kuch Khattaa Ho Jaay’.

Randhawa embarked on his musical journey in December 2012 with a song titled ‘Same Girl’ alongside Arjun. Since then, there has been no looking back. He made a splash in Bollywood with his debut track ‘Tenu Suit Suit Karda’, featured in the Irrfan Khan starrer ‘Hindi Medium’ in 2017.

He remarked, “It’s been a fantastic journey, and I believe that with persistent creative pursuits, one becomes a master of their craft. I thrive on challenges and thoroughly enjoy them. Being a cinema lover, movies have had a profound impact on my life. So, while watching films, I often envisioned myself being a part of one someday.”

He continued, “Around 2015-16, I started receiving numerous offers for acting roles. Given my appearance, many suggested I give it a try. However, at that time, I wasn’t entirely comfortable in front of the camera as my focus was primarily on my music career. Music videos typically involved minimal exposure to the camera, often just a day or two of shooting without much acting involved—mostly just smiling for the camera.”

Randhawa shared how he eventually made the decision to venture into acting.

The ‘Patola’ singer elaborated, “Having watched countless movies, I felt I was now ready to take on the responsibility of connecting with audiences through a promising project that reflects hard work and dedication, backed by a compelling script. When I decided to delve into acting, I underwent workshops to prepare. For ‘Kuch Khatta Ho Jaay’, Saiee and I participated in workshops together. There’s a common element in singing, acting, and dancing, and that’s ‘Sur’ or rhythm. The role offered to me in this film resonated deeply, and I felt that nobody could portray it better than me, given my experiences.”

Expressing gratitude to his fans, Randhawa hoped for their continued support and love for his debut film.

He said, “My fans have showered me with love from day one, and I hope they extend the same affection to this film.”

Discussing ‘Kuch Khattaa Ho Jaay’, the storyline revolves around two couples and their eccentric families.

Recently, the trailer for the film was unveiled.

The trailer depicts the marriage of two young lovers and the ensuing chaos in their lives. Events take an unexpected turn when a false pregnancy becomes a recurring theme, only to later reveal it as a deception. A musical roller coaster of emotions unfolds, leaving viewers intrigued about the conclusion of the Chawlas’ story.

In addition to Guru Randhawa, this Amit Bhatia production features actors Saiee M Manjrekar, Anupam Kher, and Ila Arun. It is produced by Mach Films, Amit Bhatia, and Laveena Bhatia.

Directed by G Ashok, the movie is set to hit theaters on February 16. (ANI)
