Gippy Grewal amid ‘Emergency’ backlash: “Cinema must avoid political agendas”

Punjabi actor and singer Gippy Grewal is one of the most active celebrities on social media. He always makes sure to keep his fans updated about his upcoming work and also keeps them engaged by sharing glimpses of his movies. Recently, he posted the news of his upcoming Punjabi crime thriller Daaka on his official Twitter handle.
A few days back, the actor took to his official Twitter handle to share the new poster of the film featuring Gippy Grewal and Zareen Khan. While the colourful poster raised the excitedness among fans, makers released another poster on Friday morning.
This time, the makers have released a caricature poster which somewhat looks like Gippy Grewal. Set in red and black tone, the character with a heavy moustache can be seen wearing a red and black striped unbuttoned shirt holding a pistol in his hand. The poster has Daaka written in red colour. The character poster also announces the trailer and film release date.

Gippy Grewal took to his official Twitter handle to share the new poster. Alongside the poster, he wrote, “#DAAKA trailer tomorrow at 11am…”

The film, helmed by Baljit Singh Deo, sees Gippy Grewal and Zareen Khan unite once again after their Punjabi film Jatt James Bond, which was also a hit at the box office when it released in 2014. Daaka, besides Gippy Grewal and Zareen Khan, also stars Rana Ranbir in a pivotal role. The makers will release the trailer on Saturday at 11 am.

Presented by Gulshan Kumar and T-series in association with Humble Motion Pictures, the film is slated for a release on November 1, 2019.
