Sony’s Crunchyroll is going to bring to life the hit game ‘Ghost of Tsushima: Legends’ to screens in an anime series avatar. The streaming platform is adapting Sucker Punch Productions’ ‘Legends’ co-multiplayer mode of the ‘Ghost of Tsushima’ video game. The awaited series is going to premiere on the platform in 2027. The announcement came during Sony’s 2025 CES press conference in Las Vegas.

‘Ghost of Tsushima: Legends’ is a cooperative multiplayer mode for ‘Ghost of Tsushima’ that released in 2020. In the mode, players can choose from four available classes: Samurai, Hunter, Ronin, or Assassin. ‘Legends’ is separate from the single-player structure of the mothership video game with several common elements intact.

The hit game takes place in an open-world action terrain of feudal Japan. In the game, players take the role of Jin Sakai, nephew of Lord Shimura. He is ready to risk everything to lead the five great clans of Tsushima Island and save it from Mongol invasion. As the Mongols are more advanced technologically, the Japanese are vulnerable. Jin Sakai needs to choose between the ethical code of conduct and the practical approach. Additionally, the game variant draws heavy inspiration from Japanese folktales and mythologies.
