While fans are eagerly waiting for the final season of the fantasy series—Game of Thrones—actors remain tight-lipped about the show. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, who plays Jaime Lannister in the HBO series, not giving away major spoilers just revealed that ‘all the pieces fit’ in the last season.

In a recent interview with The Wrap, the 48-year-old actor teased the GOT season 8 and said, “I read it, and I wrote Dan and David and said I don’t think they could have done a better job.”

“I’ve spent so many years working on this and been guessing and trying to figure out how this will end, and when I read it, some of the parts of it I’d get, and other parts of it were just completely shocking and surprising. And it wasn’t, those horrible, you know shows where it’s a murder mystery and at the very last minute you find out it doesn’t make sense,” the actor clarifies.

“Here all the pieces fit into this massive jigsaw puzzle,” he added.

In the previous season, Jaime and Cersei’s equation was left as a major cliffhanger and fans have been making speculations ever since. Commenting on the current status of Jaime’s relationship with twin sister and lover, Cersei Lannister, the actor said,”He thought he finally had her complete trust, and the fact that she revealed she’d made quite different plans with Greyjoy, that Qyburn is now her closest ally — I think it shocked him.”

“They have a future, potentially another shot at having a child, and she’s willing to risk everything for something that just doesn’t make sense to him. And on top of that, they just gave their word to the world, to everyone … And I think he sees her for a second the way the rest of the world sees her. And it shocked him,” Nickolaj added.

“There’s also the fact that for a second she seemed as if she was ready to have the Mountain kill him — I think it broke his heart,” the actor concluded.
