The final season of the epic show, Game of Thrones, is just about three months away. The countdown to the last chapter has begun as the makers of the fantasy drama declared the premiere date recently, which is April 14.

Fans are super excited and heartbroken at the same time to part ways with the HBO series. On the other side, the star cast of Game of Thrones is heavy hearted to let go of their characters.

Recently, in an interview with Daily Mail, Emilia Clarke, who is popularly known for her role as Daenerys Targaryen, expressed how she feels since the show has come to an end.

“It’s over and I cried like a baby on the last day. I felt completely lost. It was very strange and wonderful to get this [Last Christmas]. This part couldn’t be more opposite, because dragons ain’t funny,” Clarke said.

“Ten years is a long time. It’s like losing an actual limb. I was 22 — a child — when I first walked on the Game of Thrones set. I grew up with her,” Clarke told me of her character Daenerys Targaryen. She said the last chapter of the epic show is “a real whopper, especially for Daenerys”.

By now almost every GOT fan is familiar with the Azor Ahai, the Prince that was promised, who fought the Long Night five thousand years ago. The Westrosi hero, who forged the magical sword, the Lightbringer, to defeat the others had to plunge it into the heart of his beloved wife Nissa Nissa.

A fan theory suggests, Dany is the prince(ss) that was promised, based on the last words of Maester Aemon (Targaryen).

“No one ever looked for a girl,” he said. “It was a prince that was promised, not a princess. Rhaegar, I thought… What fools we were, who thought ourselves so wise! The error crept in from the translation. Dragons are neither male nor female, Barth saw the truth of that, but now one and now the other, as changeable as flame. The language misled us all for a thousand years. Daenerys is the one, born amidst salt and smoke. The dragons prove it.” Just talking of her seemed to make him stronger. “I must go to her. I must.”

If so, will Daenerys emerge as the saviour of all in the final chapter?

Based on George RR Martin’s novels, Game of Thrones is about the thrilling quest to claim an Iron Throne in a fictional medieval universe. The engrossing high-fantasy tale is counted among the highest rated shows in television history.

The final season of Game of Thrones will be aired in April on Star World.
