Hollywood films are having a dream run at the box office in India. The recent release Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw is no exception. After Avengers: Endgame broke records this year with its opening day collection at Rs. 53.60 cr, Fast & Furious: Hobbs&Shaw earned Rs. 13.15 cr.

Film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the film’s business on social media. He wrote on his official Twitter handle, “#Hollywood films are having a dream run… #FastAndFurious: #HobbsAndShaw embarks on a flying start on Day 1, braving torrential rains [several parts of the country]… Second biggest #Hollywood opener of 2019… Fri ₹ 13.15 cr Nett BOC. India biz. All versions.”

In this year’s Top 5, opening day openers, Fast & Furious appears on the second number. Captain Marvel follows with Rs. 13.01 cr, The Lion King with Rs. 11.06 cr, and Spider Man: Far From Home with Rs. 10.05 cr.

Hobbs & Shaw is the 9th installment and spin-off of The Fast and the Furious franchise centered around the titular Luke Hobbs( Dwayne Johnson) and Deckard Shaw( Jason Statham), characters introduced in the main series.
