Bollywood actors Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa have been giving people relationship goals for the last eight years. In a post shared by Humans of Bombay, the actress narrated their journey together. The tale that started when Rajkummar saw her in an advertisement for the first time and was sure that he was going to marry her.

From their struggling days in Mumbai to romantic vacations, the actress opened up about their eight years of togetherness. Talking about what ignited their relationship, the CityLights actress said, “I saw him for the first time in Love, Sex and Dhokha. I thought the weird guy he played was actually what he was like. My perception of him was tarnished! He told me later, that he first saw me in an ad & thought, ‘I’m going to marry her.’ It was so ironic!

For the couple, love happened over a period of time and through supporting each other during struggling days. The 28-year-old actress added, “Slowly we started talking about work, our love for cinema, our passion – everything. I saw him through his struggles, never giving up. How could we not fall for each other? We wouldn’t officially go on dates, but we’d go for long drives, movies, or even sit at home and eat our hearts out. We’d even accompany each other for auditions – silently seeping in support. It’s all we needed – that understanding.”

She made her Bollywood debut opposite Rajkummar in 2004 film CityLights and recalled the experience of shooting and called it magical. “The kind of passion he had was powerful – he’d bring everyone along with him like a tornado. He made sure that not only him, but everyone did their best, and I couldn’t respect him any more than I did then!” she said.

Calling their’s a relationship of two equals, Patralekha recalled an incident, “We’re equals – in fact, when some article said, ‘Rajkummar Rao with his girlfriend Patralekhaa’, he immediately retweeted saying, ‘Patralekhaa with her boyfriend Rajkummar.’ I can tell you this when you find someone you’re grateful for – through the fights, the hurdles, and the chaos, you should never forget to let them know you love them.”

Recalling another incident, Patralekhaa wrote how Rajkummar once surprised her by gifting her favorite bag, which was “ridiculously expensive”, what too when he was not earning much. “Years later, when we were in London, someone stole it! I remember calling him, sobbing, while he tried to calm me down. For me, the bag was all about the memories – he had bought it for me when he didn’t have much. That meant so much to me! Later, at our hotel, the exact same bag was waiting for me. These little things make me realise how lucky I am to have him.”

On the professional front, Patralekhaa is shooting for Pradeep Sircar’s next and Rajkummar Rao will next be seen in Ek Ladki Ko Dekha To Aisa Laga alongside Sonam Kapoor.
