‘Khiladi’ Kumar aka Akshay Kumar is on a winning streak at the box office as his latest film, Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, marks his fifth consecutive entry in the prestigious Rs.100 crore-club!
Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, which was released on August 11, opened with a slow start, but strong word of mouth from the fans and critics has paved way for the movie’s tremendous success.
The movie, which collected Rs.13.10 crore on its opening day, which was yet a good figure, didn’t come up to its expectations. But the movie picked up on the weekend as it enjoyed an extended weekend, and because of the positive word of mouth from the fans and critics, The movie made its way to the 100-crore club in just eight days!

According to sources, the breakdown figure of the movie is as follows; Fri: Rs.13.10 crore, Sat: Rs.17.10 crore, Sun: Rs.21.25 crore, Mon: Rs. 2 crore, Tue: Rs.20 crore, Wed: Rs.6.5 crore, Thurs: Rs.6.1 crore, Week 2; Fri: Rs.4 crore. Total: Rs.100.5 crore.
This is Akshay’s fifth consecutive entry in the club after Airlift (2016), Housefull 3(2016), Rustom (2016) and Jolly LLB 2 (2017), and now Toilet: Ek Prem Katha (2017).
The film narrates the story of the struggles a common man (Akshay) faces in order to build a Urinal in the village for the women.
The second week is now crucial for the movie. With so many releases around the block, whether the movie will reach the next level and make its way to the Rs. 200 crore-club is yet to be seen.
