Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu recently marked the fifth anniversary of her critically acclaimed film ‘Thappad’ with a nostalgic post on social media.
The 2020 drama, directed by Anubhav Sinha, sparked conversations around domestic violence and women’s empowerment. Taapsee’s latest post hints that the actor-director duo might collaborate again.

Sharing a behind-the-scenes photograph on Instagram, Taapsee is seen holding a script while engaged in discussion with Anubhav Sinha.
She captioned the picture, “Some associations mark the start of conversations. Even after 5 years, the echo of this slap is just as clear as the roar of applause. And now? Sirji… What next?”
‘Thappad’ followed the journey of Amrita, a woman whose seemingly perfect married life falls apart after her husband slaps her at a party. The film, which also starred Pavail Gulati and Dia Mirza, earned widespread praise for its sensitive handling of gender dynamics and emotional depth.
While reflecting on the film’s lasting impact, Taapsee’s post sparked speculation about a possible reunion with Sinha for another hard-hitting project. The actress has built a reputation for choosing socially relevant stories.
Currently, Taapsee is gearing up for her next film ‘Gandhari’, an action thriller where she performs her own stunts. The Netflix production promises an intense narrative featuring Taapsee as a mother on a high-stakes mission. Directed by Devashish Makhija, known for ‘Bhonsle’ and ‘Joram’, the film also stars Ishwak Singh.
‘Gandhari’ marks Taapsee’s sixth collaboration with writer-producer Kanika Dhillon, following projects like ‘Manmarziyaan’ and ‘Haseen Dilruba’. The film is the second offering from Kanika’s banner Kathha Pictures, following the recent success of ‘Do Patti’.
Taapsee was last seen in the ensemble comedy ‘Khel Khel Mein’, alongside Akshay Kumar, Vaani Kapoor, and Fardeen Khan.
