Junaid Khan is gearing up for the release of his theatrical debut ‘Loveyapa’ alongside Khushi Kapoor. In a recent conversation, he revealed how his parents, Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta found out about his dyslexia. Notably, the realisation came when Aamir was going through the script of ‘Taare Zameen Par’ and realised that Junaid was dyslexic.

Recently, Junaid got candid about his childhood and studies while speaking with Vickey Lalwani. He said, “Neither of my parents were particular (about my results). I was also diagnosed with dyslexia very early on. So, I think they were mindful of that, especially in schooling.”

When probed if Junaid’s diagnosis inspired Aamir Khan to create the blockbuster film, he revealed that it was the contrary. “Actually, I think it was a little bit the other way around. When they heard the script of Taare Zameen Par, they were like, ‘Ek second… We have seen this in our lives.’ And actually, it was at that point that they took me to a specialist and I was diagnosed with dyslexia.”

He continued, “It was very early. I must have been six or seven years old. And I received a lot of help very early on so it didn’t affect me as much growing up but… So in that sense, I think I was lucky.”

Moving ahead, on the work front, Junaid Khan’s theatrical debut, ‘Loveyapa’ with Khushi Kapoor is releasing on February 7. The film hinges upon the modern-day dating scenario and has sparked buzz over its fresh pairing. As per reports, the film is a remake of ‘Love Today,’ the 2022 Tamil hit. The title features Pradeep Ranganathan, Ivana, and Raveena Ravi in key roles. Meanwhile, for the upcoming film, the pairing and a contemporary plotline have piqued fans’ curiosities who harbour high expectations.
