Actor Ishaan Khattar, who impressed everyone with his acting skills in Majid Masidi’s Beyond The Clouds, is all set to make his Bollywood debut in his second venture, Dhadak, opposite debutante Janhvi Kapoor. But, do you know it was his cousin brother Shahid Kapoor who made him sign the film?
Shahid and Ishaan share a keen passion for acting. If you have watched Shahid’s 2005 film Vaah Life ho toh Aise then you might have got to see a younger Ishaan playing Shahid’s nephew.
On his upcoming film, talking to a leading publication, Ishaan revealed that how his brother persuaded him to do a film like Dhadak.
“He (Shahid) had seen Sairat and liked it. He told me it’s a good film to do and that I was at the right age with the right dynamics to do the movie. More than that, he felt I would be in good hands with Karan and Shashank empowering the film,” Ishaan shared.
When asked about what advice his brother gave him to prepare for his character, Ishaan said, “He advised me to do my research in the language and be well-rehearsed before starting the movie. He wanted me to get that ravani and ease in the language.”
Well, we now see from where does Ishaan gets that finesse. The 22-year-old actor was widely appreciated for his performance in the international film Beyond the Clouds and has also hit on the right note with the fans with Dhadak‘s trailer.
As per report in India Today, Shahid also shared a few memories with his cousin. ” Ishaan was nine when I became an actor. He has pretty much spent his entire childhood accompanying me to my shoots or shows, so he has seen the entire process. He is fortunate to have seen all of this and grown up around it,” Shahid said.
Directed by Shashank Khaitan, Dhadak is an official remake of Marathi film Sairat and will feature Ishaan and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles. The film is all set to release on July 20.
