With the good actors, he said, the film would do well at the box office.
It was reported earlier that Rohit Shetty would helm the remake of the film and Karan Johar would produced it. But the plot has been put on hold. Rohit had earlier said young stars were insecure about the two-hero film and most wanted to play the role of Lakhan (played by Anil Kapoor in the original) that portray the righteous Ram (played by Jackie Shroff).
Subhash Ghai, after the re-premiere of the film, took his feelings to Twitter and shared the picture. He wrote: “It was just nostalgic to re premier #RAM LAKHAN after 30 years yesterday on biggest screen of India @ MuktaA2 cinema new excelsior 600 seaters in mumbai when satish kaushik n Raza Murad spoke about their hilarious experiences during shoot of ram Lakhan n interacted with media.”
