Kangana Ranaut slams Bollywood’s disconnect with reality: ‘They live in a bubble’
Kangana Ranaut opines on why Southern cinema is outrunning Bollywood and slams the Hindi film industry for being disconnected with Reality.
Veteran filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt says most people in showbiz are praise junkies.
“Most of us in showbiz are praise junkies. ‘Praise me, praise me,’ is our cry. And if our demand is satiated, we soon realize that the ‘high’ one experiences wears off like the ‘high’ of alcohol or nicotine. Then you are back pining for more, more, more,” Bhatt tweeted on Thursday.

The director, who gave a platform to some of Bollywood’s best actors like Anupam Kher and Kangana Ranaut, also believes the thirst to be a part of the entertainment industry has become very intense among people.

Bhatt and actress Richa Chadha earlier this week launched Shashi Ranjan’s ‘Ticket2Audition’ platform here.
He said: “The thirst to be a part of an entertainment industry has never been as intense as it is now and I think what Shashi (Rajnan) has managed to do with his bright team is to reduce that bridge between the industry and the talent.”
‘Ticket2Audition.com’ is an organized marketplace connecting talent, audition and opportunities in showbiz.
“We as industry insiders are always looking for a new voice or a news face and the outsiders are all the time imagining that the film, television industry is a kind of fortress where you can’t break through. So there are these two needs which are isolated.
“I am looking for that new face and aspiring actors are looking for opportunities, but somehow there is no link to it,” Bhatt said.
Recounting his own good old days and his method of casting actors, he said: “In earlier times, we used to be accessible, but now with the kind of pace of life and corporatization, gone are those days when Anpuam Kher would come on your door for work and I would cast him for ‘Saaransh’ and the same implied to Kangana Ranaut and Dino Morea who came to me for work and I gave them ‘Gangster’ and ‘Raaz’ respectively.
“Those days are now a thing of the past.”
