The film is about a rapper from the streets of Mumbai who wants to become famous. Despite all the discouragement Ranveer’s character is shown believing in the mantra ‘apna time aayega’ (our time will come).
During the trailer launch, director Zoya Akhtar on Ranveer Singh said, “Ranveer Singh is a method actor. If he has to rap all day, he can rap all day.”
Gully Boy stars Ranveer Singh, Alia Bhatt, Kalki Koechlin and is directed by Zoya Akhtar. The film is scheduled to hit the theatres on 14 February 2019.
