Filmmaker Kiran Rao shares delightful moments from Ira Khan’s wedding on Instagram, featuring candid shots and joyous celebrations. The star-studded event took place in Udaipur.
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], January 19 (ANI): Filmmaker Kiran Rao, who recently made her Instagram debut, shared some delightful moments from the wedding of Aamir Khan’s daughter, Ira Khan.
Ira and her long-time boyfriend Nupur tied the knot in a traditional Christian ceremony in Udaipur, Rajasthan, following their registered marriage at Taj Lands End, Bandra in Mumbai on January 3.

Kiran Rao took to her Instagram handle to share endearing photos from the destination wedding in Udaipur. In the first photo, Kiran appears ecstatic, donning a stunning black off-the-shoulder dress. The second photo captures a joyous moment as Kiran, Ira, Aamir Khan, Reena Dutta, and Azad come together, all smiles for the cameras.

The next picture showcases Kiran and Aamir playing the harmonium during the sangeet night. In subsequent photos, Kiran warmly embraces the newlyweds, reflecting love and family ties. Another heartwarming picture captures Kiran hugging Ira, underscoring their close bond. In yet another photo, Junaid Khan, Azad, and Ira pose together.
Kiran captioned the post, “Some outtakes from a super fun wedding. We laughed, sang, danced, hugged, posed and even chilled. A lot. ❤️”
Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare recently exchanged vows in a Christian ceremony in Udaipur, followed by a reception in Mumbai. Notable personalities, including Dharmendra, Sachin Tendulkar, Salman Khan, and Shah Rukh Khan, graced the star-studded event.
Jaya Bachchan, along with her daughter Shweta Bachchan, attended the function, as did veteran actors Rekha and Saira Banu, who blessed the newlyweds.
While Aamir Khan and his family were elegantly dressed for the occasion, Kiran Rao, Aamir’s ex-wife, was not present at the event.
Reportedly, Ira and Nupur crossed paths during the COVID-19 lockdown when Nupur was training Aamir Khan, and Ira was residing with her father. The engaged couple celebrated their engagement in November 2022.
Filmmaker Kiran Rao, who recently joined Instagram, shared her first post featuring a picture from the sets of her upcoming comedy-drama film, ‘Laapataa Ladies.’ Her Instagram handle, “raodyness,” was warmly welcomed by actor Zayn Marie Khan, who also gave insights into Kiran’s joyful time at Ira’s wedding.
Kiran is currently preparing for the release of her directorial ‘Laapataa Ladies,’ marking her return to the director’s chair after 13 years. The film, set in 2001 rural India, follows the humorous chaos that unfolds when two young brides go missing from a train.
