Kiran Rao, the acclaimed filmmaker known for her directorial ventures, recently opened up about her and Aamir Khan’s modest lifestyle and their decision to keep their son, Azad, away from the public eye. Amid the buzz surrounding her upcoming directorial endeavor, “Laapataa Ladies,” Rao shared insights into her relationship with Khan and their parenting choices, particularly concerning Azad. She emphasized the importance of allowing children their privacy, noting that Azad has never shown much interest in attending public events.

Expressing Azad’s inclination towards animation, Rao revealed his sensitivity and tendency to empathize deeply, which sometimes made viewing certain films challenging for him. She recounted an incident where Azad’s concern for a character in a movie led her to exit the cinema with him, showcasing his heightened emotional awareness.
Despite Azad’s preference for animated content over live-action, Rao indicated that he might be ready to explore a broader range of films as he grows older. However, she disclosed that Azad has yet to watch her latest directorial venture, “Laapataa Ladies,” suggesting that he is still finding his own interests and preferences.
