Karan Johar reveals the reason for selling 50% stake in Dharma Productions
Dharma Productions owner Karan Johar reveals the reason for selling a 50% stake in the banner to Adar Poonawalla of Serum Institute.
Karan Johar’s debut directional film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is completing two decades in October. The film featured Shah Rukh Khan, Rani Mukherji, and Kajol, and it is one of the all-time favourite films.
During an interview with Film Companion, Karan Johar revealed how difficult it was for him to shoot a scene where SRK was supposed to laugh. Do you remember the scene where Anjali dresses up to look like Tina but is mocked by the whole college, including Rahul (played by Shah Rukh Khan) and Tina (played by Rani Mukherji)? It was the most crucial scene but director Karan Johar had to do a slew of retakes to shoot this shot.

Karan couldn’t stop himself from laughing whilst he explained the trouble and the number of retakes they had to do because of Shah Rukh. He said, “Shah Rukh is the finest actor that I have worked with and is considered as one of our leading actors, bust ask him to laugh in a scene and he can’t do it. He finds it very difficult to laugh naturally on screen. So, we had many takes of just trying to make Shah Rukh laugh. It gets so exhausting that he laughed just out of exhaustion. I think this was that take.”
