In a recent interview, Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi opened up about the realities of working in the film industry, dismissing notions of it being an inherently unfair workplace. Speaking at the trailer launch event for his web series “Showtime,” Hashmi addressed the question of how he manages to sustain himself in the industry without getting lost amidst its complexities. Responding to inquiries about the industry’s reputation as an “unfair place,” Hashmi emphasized that such perceptions vary depending on one’s experiences within it.

“In my opinion, whether Bollywood is deemed a negative or unfair place is subjective and depends on the individual’s journey,” Hashmi remarked. He highlighted the importance of resilience and the ability to adapt to setbacks, asserting, “If you can weather the storms and remain steadfast in your pursuits, I don’t believe the industry is inherently unfair.”

Acknowledging the role of luck alongside hard work in achieving success, Hashmi emphasized the need for dedication and perseverance in the face of challenges. “Luck certainly plays a part, but it’s not the sole determinant of success,” he stated. “You have to be willing to put in the effort, endure hardships, and embrace the unpredictable nature of the industry.”

Contrary to popular beliefs about the cutthroat nature of Bollywood, Hashmi argued that it is ultimately a fair environment for those who are prepared to confront its trials. “Everyone in this industry works diligently to carve out their place,” he explained. “It’s about how you handle the ups and downs, and your willingness to adapt to the ever-changing landscape.”
