Kajol and Kriti Sanon star in ‘Do Patti’, a gripping Netflix thriller releasing on October 25, featuring sibling rivalry, mystery, and intense drama.
The much-anticipated thriller ‘Do Patti’, starring Kajol and Kriti Sanon, is set to make waves on Netflix starting October 25, with the trailer out. Directed by Shashanka Chaturvedi, this suspenseful drama marks the reunion of Kajol and Kriti, who previously shared screen space in Rohit Shetty’s ‘Dilwale’. Fans are excited to see the two powerhouse actresses together again, but this time, the tone is far more intense.
‘Do Patti’ trailer, unveiled at a star-studded event in Mumbai, has already created a buzz. Kajol steps into the role of a determined police officer, Vidya Jyothi, while Kriti Sanon plays not one but two characters—twin sisters Saumya and Shailee, who find themselves caught in a complex web of rivalry and deception.
The trailer opens with a gripping scene where Kajol interrogates Shaheer Sheikh’s character, Dhruv, about a tragic accident. The storyline then takes a turn, as Dhruv’s romance with Saumya is revealed.
However, the relationship faces unexpected turbulence when Shailee, Saumya’s twin sister, enters the picture and attempts to win Dhruv over. The tension between the sisters escalates, and Vidya Jyothi must unravel the mystery of their conflict, leading to an intense and suspenseful investigation.
Kriti Sanon, who is not only the lead but also a producer of the film, expressed her deep connection to the project. “Do Patti is incredibly special to me,” she shared in a press statement. “It’s my first film as a producer, and it allowed me to explore my own duality on screen.”
Kajol also shared her thoughts on taking on the role of a police officer for the first time. “As an actor, I’ve always sought roles that let me connect with the audience. Playing a cop has been an exciting challenge, and I can’t wait for everyone to see me in this new light,” she said.
Kajol’s portrayal of Vidya Jyothi brings a sense of authority and strength, something she feels is inherent when donning the police uniform. “Wearing that uniform gave me a sense of power, and I truly enjoyed every moment of it. I’d love to play this kind of role again,” she added.
‘Do Patti’ promises to be more than just a mystery. With a strong emotional undercurrent, the film delves into sibling rivalry, redemption, and the consequences of choices. Kanika Dhillon, co-producer and writer of the film, called it a story “close to her heart,” praising the collaboration with Kajol and Kriti as an “absolute delight.” She’s confident that the film’s global release on Netflix will allow viewers worldwide to engage with its powerful narrative.
