The much-anticipated film ‘Bun Tikki’, starring Abhay Deol and produced by renowned designer Manish Malhotra, made its world premiere at the 36th Palm Springs International Film Festival (PSIFF) in California.

This heartfelt father-son drama, set in the scenic town of Nainital, delves into the emotional bond between a single father and his seven-year-old son, Shanu.

The premiere saw the presence of Abhay Deol, director Faraz Arif Ansari, and producer Manish Malhotra, who expressed their excitement and shared insights about the film.

Speaking at the event, Manish Malhotra revealed his deep connection with the project. “’Bun Tikki’ is very special to me. From the moment I read the script, I knew I had to make this film. It’s a story full of love and emotion, highlighting the importance of parents accepting their children for who they truly are. This is a universal message that resonates with families everywhere.”

Abhay Deol, known for his thoughtful film choices, shared what drew him to the project. “The script immediately stood out to me. The mischief and warmth in the father-son relationship felt so real. The film’s central theme of acceptance and diversity is incredibly relevant in today’s world, where we often see more hate than love. This story naturally carries a powerful message about empathy and understanding.”

He also praised the director’s vision, adding, “Faraz has written this story with such integrity. The father’s journey of grappling with his own conditioning and finding a way to connect with his son is deeply moving. Produced by Jio Studios and Stage5 Productions, ‘Bun Tikki’ features an impressive ensemble cast. This including Shabana Azmi and Zeenat Aman, along with Nushrratt Bharucha and Rohaan Preet Singh.

The film has already garnered attention for its sensitive portrayal of family dynamics and its celebration of diversity.
