Expressing her thoughts, Bhumi said, “February has always held a special place for me since my debut as an actor. My first film, ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha,’ released in February, and it garnered so much love, acclaim, and respect that it solidified my position as a trailblazing actor in the industry. It was a truly disruptive project that exceeded my expectations. The overwhelming appreciation I received for my debut film is something I will be grateful for throughout my career.”
“My film ‘Badhaai Do’ also released in Feb. It was a transformative moment in my career and for the film industry as we openly celebrated the LGBTQIA+ community and their rights. It was special for me because I stood up for something I truly believed in and was proudly vocal about it. Similar to ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha,’ I received an outpouring of love—praise, numerous Best Actress awards, and opportunities unlocked because of ‘Badhaai Do.’ It’s the stuff dreams are made of,” she added.
Bhumi is now ready to present a never-seen-before avatar in ‘Bhakshak’. She said, “Now, ‘Bhakshak’ will release on Feb 9th. It is one of the most important films in my career, and I hope that the project, my director Pulkit, and I receive the same amount of love that I had for ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ and ‘Badhaai Do.’ I hope February brings me luck again, and I manage to deliver a performance that people will remember forever.”
Directed by Pulkit, ‘Bhakshak’ features Bhumi Pednekar, Sanjay Mishra, Aditya Srivastava, and Sai Tamhankar in pivotal roles.
‘Bhakshak’ delves into the journey of an unwavering woman’s quest for justice. Bhumi Pednekar, as Vaishali Singh, portrays the role of an investigative journalist aiming to expose a heinous crime, laying bare the harsh reality of crimes against women.
The film will stream on the OTT platform Netflix from February 9.
Meanwhile, Bhumi will also share screen space with Rakul Preet Singh and Arjun Kapoor in another film which has no name yet. (ANI)
