Describing Yamunabai, Lokhande emphasized her as a quintessential representation of Indian womanhood. She highlighted Yamunabai’s resilience and unwavering support for her husband, even during his incarceration in the infamous Kala Pani. Through Yamunabai’s character, Lokhande aims to shed light on the strength and determination inherent in every Indian housewife, especially during times of adversity.

Delving into her preparation for the role, Lokhande expressed her admiration for Yamunabai’s often overlooked contributions to India’s struggle for independence.
