Alia’s film is the latest to join the big leagues as the film’s 10-day collections at the box office have landed it on the list of highest grossing films of 2018 (domestic collections).
According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, Raazi showed a remarkable growth over the second weekend and earned a cumulative figure of Rs 21.74 crore, thus taking the total collections of the film to Rs 78.33 crore.
Despite an intense competition from Hollywood’s much awaited films Avengers: Infinity War and Deadpool 2, Raazi successfully defied the odds and continued its dominance at the box office.
Now, the next milestone for the film to accomplish is to enter the elite Rs 100-crore club.
It’ll be interesting to see that whether the film will gross Rs 100 crore or not in the coming days.
Owing to its strong word of mouth from fans and critics, Raazi‘s outstanding performance is one fine example of why 2018 has been the year of good content over typical Bollywood masala films.
Directed by Meghna Gulzar and released worldwide on 11 May, Raazi is based on the bestselling novel Calling Sehmat, and stars Vicky Kaushal, Rajit Kapur, Soni Razadan and Jaideep Ahlawat alongside Alia in pivotal roles.
