The cast also includes Preity Zinta and Shabana Azmi.
Santoshi recently expressed his enthusiasm about having Preity onboard for the film.
“After a hiatus, Preity Zinta returns to the silver screen with ‘Lahore 1947.’ She is undeniably one of the most talented and natural actresses in our industry. She immerses herself completely in every character she portrays, making the audience believe she was born to play that role.
Moreover, the audience will witness her chemistry with Sunny Deol once again. Their on-screen pairing has always been adored by the audience. Above all, the script of this film demands a pairing as apt as Sunny and Preity,” Santoshi remarked.
‘Lahore 1947’ marks the reunion of Preity and Sunny after a considerable gap. The duo has previously shared the screen in films like ‘The Hero: Love Story of a Spy,’ ‘Farz,’ and ‘Bhaiaji Superhit.’
Meanwhile, Ali is gearing up for the release of ‘Girls Will Be Girls,’ a film produced under his production banner.
Directed by Shuchi Talati, the film presents a captivating narrative set in a boarding school nestled in a small Himalayan hill town in northern India. It follows the journey of Mira, a 16-year-old girl, whose rebellious awakening intertwines with her mother’s unfulfilled coming-of-age experiences.
