Bhansali is known for creating a whole new magical world in his movies. With Heeramandi, he is debuting with an original web series. The story of Heeramandi, set in pre-independence time, deals with the love and betrayal of the courtesans of Heeramandi, which was located in present-day Lahore, Pakistan.

Bhansali is the showrunner of the series apart from being the director of the first and the last episode of the awaited series which is said to have eight episodes.

The series is constantly in the headlines because of its huge star cast. It’s being said that the series will have around 18 female leads, out of which most of the names are still to be unwrapped. Some of the rumoured names are Madhuri Dixit, Juhi Chawla, Tabu, Huma Qureshi, Sonakshi Sinha, Nimrat Kaur, Manish Koirala, Rekha, Sanjeeda Shaikh, and Diana Penty.
There are rumours that there will be cameos in the series too. Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla’s appearance are counted in for that.
The release date of the much-awaited and special project of Bhansali will come out anytime soon. As per reports, Heeramandi will showcase the life events of three courtesans.
