Pathikrit Basu’s film Kacher Manus has got all the attention since its announcement. The trailer of the film sparked more conversations. Starring the dynamic duo Dev and Prasenjit, Kacher Manus is the most anticipated film of this Durga puja. Amidst all the talk, the makers unveiled the first song of the film, titled ‘Chumbok Mon’ on Friday.

The song launch was followed by a gala event in the presence of Indian pop queen Usha Uthup, Dev, Ishaa Saha, Nilayan Chatterjee, and Pathikirit Basu. Chumbok Mon is romantic jazz sung by Usha Uthup and written and composed by Nilayan.

Actor-Producer Dev who has always had an eye for innovation brought the idea of fusing jazz in a romantic way. “We don’t often use jazz in Bengali films. I thought why not try out something new breaking the stereotypes? So I sat with Nil and cracked up on the concept. Throughout the entire song we wanted to picturise Kolkata, the old charm of the city, walking down the alleys, having egg rolls and jhalmuri, the essence of north Kolkata, parar rock, and so on. And honestly speaking I knew we couldn’t make this song without Usha di and she said she’ll be doing it at the first call… she is such a sweetheart,” shared Dev.

Pathikrit, the young director reveals, “This song is used in such a scenario where we are talking about life and living. We wanted it to be a bit experimental and Nil cracked this amazing one. Also, we are blessed to have Usha di as a part of the film.”

Actress Ishaa Saha who looked serene in a white dress was caught in a cheerful mood as she posed with Dev for a photo up.

“I got stuck to the song like a chumbok. This is the ultimate happy song and it creates such a different mood. You know, since then I am going on humming the song, it’s so addictive. Finally, after preme pora baron and tomake bujhina, I got a happy song on my playlist. I am so happy”, joyed the actress.

The cast got grooving with the tune as Usha Uthup sang along. Produced by Dev Entertainment Ventures ‘Kacher Manus’ is releasing on September 30 to make you fall in love with the close ones all over again.
