Badla has surpassed the lifetime collection of Andhadhun, which collected Rs.75.60 crores at the box-office.
The film’s business, as suggested by many comes not just from word of mouth, but also the trend of embracing films where “content is the king”. Films like Andhadhun and Badhaai Ho had gained momentum last year at the box-office for these reasons. It is also the first orbit breaking film of 2019 with its distinct storyline.
The crime thriller revolves around Taapsee Pannu’s character Naina Sethi who is stuck in a murder scandal. Amitabh Bachchan has recreated the magic of Pink by playing Badal Gupta, lawyer to her.
The film also stars Amrita Singh, Tony Luke and Manav Kaul in supporting roles.
Badla is presented by Red Chillies Entertainment in association with Azure Entertainment. Co-produced by Gaurav Verma and produced by Gauri Khan, Sunir Kheterpal and Akshai Puri, the crime thriller directed by Sujoy Ghosh released on 8 th March 2019, International Women’s Day.
