In a series of tweets, Kashyap listed the films (in no particular order) adding that there haven’t “been so many good films made in Hindi in recent times.”

In another tweet he wrote, “My list is not a “best of” list. It’s a jealous filmmaker list and it’s because there is something in them ,or them as a whole that makes me rethink, gives me courage, has overwhelmed me and at made me ask myself, “why didn’t I see it that way?”

Soon after he tweeted his list and views, Hansal Mehta wrote if he plans to make him cry, while Ram Gopal Varma pointed out that Kashyap has spoken like a true filmmaker and more so, a true film lover.

Meanwhile, mid-budget films like Andhadhun, Badhaai Ho, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Raazi, and Stree did stellar business at the box office. On the other hand, the Khans failed to deliver their best at the box office in 2018.
Anurag Kashyap had two releases in 2018—Mukkabaaz and Manmarziyyan. Not just that, on the digital platform, Kashyap has delivered a massive hit with Sacred Games.
