Renowned devotional singer Anup Jalota has ventured into new territory by lending his voice to an Afghani song for the first time, alongside Afghan singer Farishta Sama.
In a conversation with ANI, Anup expressed, “I enjoy significant popularity in Afghanistan as well, so I felt compelled to explore singing in their language. Given the current situation in Afghanistan where music is banned, I saw an opportunity to spread a message of love and music through this Afghan song. Collaborating with Farishta, we aim to revive the spirit of love and music.”

Farishta Sama, the Afghan singer, shared her excitement with ANI, stating, “Collaborating with Anup Jalota is a significant milestone for me. Anup ji’s songs are cherished by many in Afghanistan. The news of him singing a Persian song will surely bring immense joy to his fans.”
She continued, “The song we’ve recorded is truly special, with lyrics that tug at the heartstrings, conveying sentiments like ‘Lost in the desert’s embrace, oblivious to the world…’. It encapsulates the idea that music is an inherent part of human existence. Its soothing melody resonates deeply with the soul.”
Reflecting on their collaboration, Anup shared, “I first met Farishta in Germany. She has previously collaborated with Ghulam Ali Saheb. Impressed by her talent, I encouraged her to explore opportunities in India. Together, we’ve crafted a beautiful duet that I believe will inspire love and music not just among our listeners but also in Afghanistan. It’s tragic that music, an integral part of human life, is being suppressed in Afghanistan.”
The music video is scheduled for release in March. (ANI)
