Sharing this because I believe that by speaking out about my own experience of sexual harassment, I will break the culture of silence that permeates through our society. It is not easy to speak out.. but it is harder to stay silent. My conscience will not allow it anymore #MeToo pic.twitter.com/iwex7e1NLZ

In his defence, Zafar also issued a statement regarding the same and said that he had always supported women and was a part of the campaigns set up against all type of harassment against women in the industry.
Apparently, Shafi was not the only one to experience harassment as popular singer from Coke-Studio Momina Mustehsan also accused Zafar of making sexual advances towards her.
In the recent turn of events, Zafar has sent a legal notice to Shafi demanding her to apologise over the sexual harassment allegations she made against him or face a defamation suit of Rs 100 crore.
According to a report in The Indian Express, Shafi’s lawyer said, “We have received the notice and are examining its contents. The contents of Meesha’s statements with regard to Ali Zafar are based in truth, and therefore we dispel this notice.”
Shafi, who accused Zafar of sexually harassing her, is not the only woman to take stand against the actor as days after her post went viral more women from the Pakistani film industry accused Zafar of harassing and misbehaving with them.
