Storied atelier Zoya from the House of Tata announced its entry into eastern India on Wednesday, opening its first store in Kolkata, in a heritage bungalow on Shakespeare Sarani.
Actor Akshay Kumar has joined hands with young Shiv Sena leader Aaditya Thackeray for the installation of bio-toilets at Juhu beach in Mumbai.
Akshay, who spread the message of importance of basic sanitation through his film Toilet: Ek Prem Katha, has come forward with the initiative of installing bio-toilets with the help of Aaditya Thackeray whose party in in power in the Mumbai municipality, i.e. the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.

The Pad Man actor’s wife Twinkle Khanna, who had one taken to her Twitter account to discuss about the open defecation problem in India, was applauded by the Twitterati for an initiative like this.

Later, Akshay came in support of his wife and decided to fund the campaign with Rs 10,00,000 in collaboration with the youth icon and politician Aaditya Thackeray.
The open-defecation-free campaign is a part of the government’s Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan.
If reports are to be believed, Assistant Municipal commissioner, K-West Ward, Prashant Gaikwad has said the toilets will have bio-digesters in order to prevent stink at the beach.
Akshay and Aaditya will be installing toilets across the beach. The bio-toilets are expected to have at least three toilet seats for men and women each and also a separate urinal.
Well, this is not the first time that the actor and politician has joined forces for working towards the betterment of the society as in the past they have collaborated on self-defence classes for women so that they can protect themselves.
On the work front, Akshay will be next seen in Excel Entertainment’s Gold, which is all set to release worldwide on August 15.
